The incredibly charming Kate and Steve were married at Castle Hill on a classic Newport afternoon with fog rolling in off the water.  You will remember this much-loved couple from their engagement session with Julie.  Kate's warm smile, lapis blue eyes and golden hair make her look like a bride straight from the magazines.  The couple is effortlessly-chic and their wedding was the perfect expression of that.  An elegant palette of shimmery silvery and punchy orange with navy made a gorgeous setting for a fantasticly fun party.

Kate contacted Oggi this summer when she needed to have fresh photos taken of she and her fiance together.  She wanted to have engagement photos taken without any of the fuss and posing that seems to go along with engagement photos, no props or fluff.  Julie met them in a sun-drenched field next to Bristol Harbor for a relaxed session where they walked around and smiled for the camera.  Kate was thrilled with how Julie was able to "capture her essence" without making it feel contrived or fake.  Take a look at how this lovely couple bloomed in a garden of hydrangeas and love.

On a hot hot hot summer night Nicole and Tom had a wild, high-energy wedding.  The two were married at the elegant St. Luke's Church in Barrington, RI and held a swinging reception at OceanCliff.  Everyone was dressed in vibrant jewel tones and the dance floor was packed from the moment the DJ invited them on.  The spectacular moment from this wedding was the football-style entrance and huddle up organized by Tom and his groomsmen.  The wedding party burst through a banner and then circled around the beaming couple while Tom lead them in a chant.  It won the prize for best entrance of the summer hands down.  It was such a good-time wedding that I'm not sure Nicole and Tom stopped smiling the whole evening.  Here's wishing them a lifetime where the music doesn't stop and your cheeks hurt from smiling.

As some of you know, I traveled to Haiti last month to photograph for 1000jobsHaiti. It was a rich journey, filled with sights, smells and emotions that I have never experienced before. The sea of people was lush, the landscape teetered between heaven (the apparent visuals of the countryside), and hell (the city, Port-Au-Prince). It was a photographic overload! I miss it. Caroline and Greg were married at the beautiful St. Luke's Church in Barrington, RI. This radiant couple exchanged their vows in front of friends and family and then brought the party to the beach at Rhode Island Country Club to celebrate their happy marriage.  The navy, khaki and pops of yellow were a snappy pallete for this summer  wedding.  Mark and Devon captured the event as it unfolded in the warm evening sunlight.

The term "senior portrait" might mean something different depending on whom you ask.  Some people think it is having a full-scale commercial fashion shoot.  At Oggi we think that they should simply be radiant photographs of a person.  Just like with all her work, Julie creates a portrait that gets to the essence of a person without over processing or over dramatizing.  These three beautiful girls are each graduating as part of the class of 2012. Julie was able to snag each one at the end of the summer to capture these gorgeous photos and celebrate their final year of high school.
