Herreshoff Marine Museum and America’s Cup Hall of Fame, Bristol, RI - Julia and Jay’s Wedding

Lucky me! Julia and Jay asked me to photograph their wedding in Bristol. I photographed Julia’s sister Becky’s wedding a few years ago. I love this great family and met them through the girls’ Grandma, Cora, who is one of the fine art divas of Rhode Island. Okay, I admit it I was totally flattered and honored to be called on again to document another family landmark. And Jay and Julia are so cool! And sweet and gorgeous people. This wedding was a visual feast!

The couple wanted to get their family and wedding party photos shot before the celebration and out of the hot summer sun. Phew! Great idea that I recommend to all of my brides. (Who wants to hang out, all sweaty in the heat of the day?). We started in Colt State Park in the shade on an old grass covered road. The couple knew that they would have lots of gorgeous waterfront photos at the reception, so they were happy to be in the green, cool woods. And, we had everyone that we needed for the photos present, a recipe for quick and fun family pix.
On to The Herreshoff Marine Museum for the celebration at this great venue right on the ocean in Bristol, RI. Julia’s family sailed into Bristol on the family boat for the wedding. The boat, moored next to the tent and all dressed up for the celebration in it’s dress flags rocked all night to the music in the sweet ocean waves.
