My journey to Haiti with 1000jobsHaiti

As some of you know, I traveled to Haiti last month to photograph for 1000jobsHaiti. It was a rich journey, filled with sights, smells and emotions that I have never experienced before. The sea of people was lush, the landscape teetered between heaven (the apparent visuals of the countryside), and hell (the city, Port-Au-Prince). It was a photographic overload! I miss it. Included below is just a taste of the visual feast of photos that I came back with.

Please take a minute to look at the 1000JobsHaiti website. Read their inspiring mission then give your support by purchasing a few of the handmade items for the loved ones in your life. These beautifully crafted pieces are all under $20 and the proceeds directly support the women making them.
"When you purchase handmade Haitian goods, you empower women in ways they have never known before. All of the goods sold on the 1000Jobs website are made in feminine co-operatives in Hinche, Mirebalais, Port-au-Prince and Cange, Haiti."
In the photos below you will see some of the amazing women that I met on my journey and who handmade the products available in the online store.
